We are sorry for those who were not able to be with us on Saturday, 27 August 2005 and experience a real spectacle in Banatski Sokolac!

We will give a fraction of the atmosphere, for all of them, in the next few lines with the hope that they will join us next year in the new rock surprises.

Rock Marathon visited many journalists and TV crews, so we hope that their stories accurately describe what happened in Banatski Sokolac. A few thousand visitors, who want positive vibrations, rock music and good cheer, the stage set in the school yard and eight top bands.

Rock fans arrived from all sides. The village was flooded with various car registration. There were Zrenjanin, Vrsac, Pancevo, Belgrade, Novi Sad and many from neighboring villages. However, the real confusion in the village caused the arrival of dozens of motorists. Powerful machines were screaming and making introduction to real rock mayhem in small village of Banat!

In the audience was all ages, from little children to grandparents who stood their chairs in the yard to follow "world miracle" in the middle of their village.

High quality sound surprised almost all bands, which are not likely to expect in such a small place, while the audience had the privilege to hear the almost perfect sound Rock Marathon's with thousands of watts of powerful sound, starting precisely at 19:00.

Aleksandra
Rock group from Jagodina, led by the brilliant vocal soloist, the seventeen year old Aleksandra, was officially opened Rock Marathon with her performance and was definitely impressed and raised the temperature among the visitors.

As the late afternoon hours passed, night fell, song after song alternated, the visitors became more and more.

Good tempo, live songs followed by Zrenjanin group "Demether," which once again confirmed the well-deserved winning place in last year's ZajecarskA gitarijada.

Audience, quite warmed, began to push around the stage, with the first riffs that followed of Belgrade ProRok and there was a real climax. Then, over two thousand people was singing well-known local and international rock hits from the band's brilliant performance. The guys from the ProRock did their best with the theme, for which still need the courage, and blow it, and they has chosen it for finale - "Thunderstruck" and AC/DC. It was a moment when all was jumping, singing, screaming...

All of this needed a little rest, and while the visitors look for refreshment, on the scene appeared our evening hostess, Irina Vukotic from 3K, which was masterfully guided rock quiz with the boys from the ProRock. There were three contestants, whose task was to guess the name of the song played by ProRock, and yet with a little help from the audience, the victory won Anja Bogdanovic.

Rock marathon continues in a different, a little "harder" style after the quiz.

Sothern Storm
Group "Southern Storm" had brought real storm from Tuzla by performing several of their songs, and more big international hit songs such as Iron Maidens hits. The audience enthusiastically accepted all three guitars, drummer, and a tireless soloist Elvis together. Yes, they are shown how to play real rock!

Irina
A bit tired singer withdrew from the stage, but group stayed to follow the other Bosnian singing mega star Irina Kapetanovic. Although little known in these parts, the first appearance, great voice, styling, and communication with the audience won the crowd who sang along with her and danced with the best-known hits. Real screaming was started with the first beats of "Born to be wild" which Irina performed fantastically. All this led to a total delirium that followed at the end of the performance.

We guess many people were out of breath after this, and Irina herself did not hide that she is totally thrilled by the audience that knew all the songs.

A heated mass with passion escorted Pivopijadu, fastest drinker of beer, where the winner, Dragan Prodanovic drank a 0.5l of beer in a time of 4.5 seconds.

Negativ
Happy audience has failed even to reach the air, and host announced Ivana and Negative somewhere behind the 23:00 hours. Young people in the audience knew by heart the words of big hits by Negative and sing along. The guys from the band in the spirit of its predecessor, spice gig by removing shirts, and the audience, especially the female part, accepted this. They did their best to comply with the hosts, and eventually they promised to come again, and showed that they are one of the biggest bands. It is simply amazing how much the audience knew the repertoire of Negativ and how many young people here prefer them.

If concert ended here, over three thousand people, that are gathered by then, would have gone home more than satisfied. But this was the Rock marathon, and all of them should continue to enjoy.

Gale (Kerber) & Najda (Smak)
Gale and Najda were following. More than satisfied audience honored the greatest hits from Kerber, Smak, Generacija 5 ... Middle-aged audience was enthusiastically embraced the band and showed that they knows, loves and wants to be reminded of the good old songs. Najda with the guitar solo on "Zajdi Zajdi" proved to be an accomplished guitarist, and the audience with applause appreciate that.

Boiling mass loudly watched Miss Rock Marathon, which followed. The jury found it difficult to decide the most beautiful girl, but Hristina from Belgrade won.

Inspektor Blaza i Kljunovi
After the election of Miss Rock Village Blaza and Kljunovi ran to the scene. Although tired, because this was the second gig for the evening, Kljunovi, and in particular Blaza did their best to satisfy the audience and to remain at the level of the previous bands. Madness started with were famous Blazas song "Pamela" and Miss joinded them on the stage. Blaise has unsuccessfully tried to lure them from the stage, he had even take off his shirt and, at some point trousers, and the crowd take cameras and phones to picture this. Blaza performed the famous song Vranjanke (Jelena), which will surely become a great hit. Although it was already past 03:00 hours the crowd wanted more, but that was the end. Blaza, in return, promised us to come back and throw a solo concert.

What can we say after almost seven hours of intense performances, where all announced bands came, where they were all did their best to make this a real happening - the audience and the musicians, where there was not the slightest incident, where there were a village with 300 people and managed to accommodate over 3,000 people, where we were able to organise such a great event with a handful entusiasts and without any assistance.

We want to say that we were right in what we believed in the project Rock Village.

We want to say that this will become a tradition and next year will be even better.

We want to say that Banatski Sokolac, and Rock Village has a future, and we believe in it.
