| | Rock Village ?
| | | Rock Village is a two-day music festival which is traditionally organized last weekend of August. Festival participators are unknown as well as best bands. Mostly, festival popularizes rock, reggae, blues and funk music. First Rock Village Festival was held 2005. in Banatski Sokolac (Serbia).
Who and why organize Rock Village festival ?
On the question addressed to financier of the Rock Village Festival Mirko Miljus why organize the festival when it is clear that with free entrance and the huge expenditure for the bands, sound, marketing and other costs real big minus, he briefly answered: “This is my contribution to humanitarian rural region, such is South Banat. I want for young people in this middle to feel charms of big events, to have an opportunity to grow with rock music giants, to share experiences with youth from other regions who come to the festival and, in the end, that after Rock Village festival they go “full battery” and with a better view on the environment, the better tomorrow, with the idea that here too is possible to live urban.”
Friends of the Rock Village festival
Plandiste municipality and Apatinska brewery have recognized the importance of this festival and they were pretty shy in helping materially at first, but later on in 2007 and 2008 they lend significant help to the organization of Rock Village. Organizer as well as visitors acknowledges that very much. AMS Company and Misa Matijevic have been friends of the festival and maximal help from starters. Banatski Sokolac gave their contribution through the field preparation and through other tasks from their work sphere. I do not know what has left greater and better impression on visitors, whether kids from Santos Brothers Band, who opened the festival, Ritam Nereda who had one of his best performances, Riblja Corba which has tirelessly gave us two and a half hours for the soul and ears patch, or Saturday madness that began with Sheitans, over BandX who played fabulous hits AC / DC, hard-core band from Italy Fitzsimmons or performance of Alogija, to the tireles. | | |  Dark clouds over Serbia last weekend didn’t reduce visit to the second music festival of rock music in Banatski Sokolac. Despite bad weather in the area, Rock Village this year also gathered more than 5,000 old and new rockers, which on Friday 25. and on Saturday 26. August, to early morning enjoyed with good music. Rain was falling in Belgrade, Vrsac, Zrenjanin, Bela Crkva, and all the surrounding places, but… luck accompanies the braves. Banatski Sokolac had no rain and Rock Village went without. READ MORE...
